This past summer, PeacePlayers sites around the world held their regional Friendship Games – comprised of an array of basketball and peace-building activities for young leaders (like Sarii) – preparing them for PeacePlayers’ inaugural Friendship Games being held in Israel, August 2020.

PeacePlayers Featured in Nike Campaign and Hosted at their NYHQ
PeacePlayers Brooklyn Director, Sally Nnamani, was featured in Nike’s Air Force 1 campaign seen across the globe including Tel Aviv, Istanbul, Paris and Oslo. Later in 2019, Nike hosted PeacePlayers’ board meeting at their New York headquarters. The meeting was followed by a Q&A session led by a panel of female leaders in the organization from New York, the Middle East, and South Africa.

Didier Drogba visits PeacePlayers Cyprus
In March, we welcomed football (soccer) legend Didier Drogba to participate in a friendly match between Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot teams, showcasing our ongoing work to bring the two communities together through sport. Just recently, Drogba was quoted in the New York Times about the power of sport to unite people.
