The uncertain duration of the present coronavirus crisis has forced the difficult decision to postpone gathering in-person for our first-ever PeacePlayers Friendship Games. The Games were scheduled to take place in Israel this upcoming August, bringing together participants from across our global movement for a week of basketball, leadership and cultural exchange.
Although the crisis will keep us from coming together face-to-face until sometime in 2021, in the meantime, we are excited to transition to 2020 virtual games!
This will kickoff on THURSDAY, MAY 21st at 1:00 p.m. EST where we invite you to join us on Facebook LIVE for a fun virtual event with our sites from around the world!
We want to thank Ed and Penelope Peskowitz, the founders and inspiration behind the games, for their steadfast support and understanding at this particularly challenging time.
You can read below about our movement of change makers and how they laid the groundwork throughout 2019 with regional games in all five of our sites across the world.
We are excited to kickoff virtual games on May 21 and continue to foster connections around the world through virtual programming in June-July 2020. More updates on our virtual and regional programming to follow – stay tuned to latest updates by following us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
