OUR STORIES

Join us for a weekend on, not a weekend off!

This weekend, PeacePlayers across the United States are joining together in five cities in action to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy, joined by thousands of volunteers nationwide as part of the 25th annual MLK Day of Service.

In Baltimore, Chicago and Los Angeles on Saturday, and then followed by Brooklyn and Detroit on Monday, we will be bringing our young leaders and community members together for a day of on-court and off-court basketball and team building activities.  We will have youth and volunteers working together in rotating sessions, learning more about each other and how we can all work together to create a more peaceful world.  We have partnered with Nike since 2017 to help change perceptions and build youth leaders through the power of sport.

Dr. King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech said, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”  Our PeacePlayers programs in the U.S. are working to help foster the hope and possibility of a more peaceful and equitable society here in America, where people are not judged by their ethnicity or skin color, but towards a society that celebrates our diversity.
