PeacePlayers unites divided communities through the sport of basketball. In the U.S., historical divides driven by race and geography have created an inequitable society. PeacePlayers is working to develop a network of young leaders who come together across community divides and become catalysts in building a more peaceful and equitable society. In Brooklyn, PeacePlayers operates in Brownsville which has the largest concentration of public housing in the Americas and is a community divided due to ongoing issues among residents that span generations. PeacePlayers Brooklyn is working to create safe spaces through basketball for youth from across Brownsville to build relationships and become advocates for change in their community.
