Brooklyn, New York, USA

PeacePlayers Brooklyn is focusing work in the neighborhood of Brownsville, which has the largest concentration of public housing in the Americas and is a community divided due to ongoing issues among local residents that span generations. These tensions, combined with mistrust of police, a lack of educational and economic opportunities have led to feelings of hopelessness and mistrust among the youth in Brownsville. Our goal is that we can work with local youth in the Brownsville community to not only play basketball together but to unite to become advocates for change and have increased hope for the future.
