Mandy joined PeacePlayers in June 2017, as the new head of growth and strategy. She is now serving as COO, building and managing the team to help drive the long-term growth of the organization.
Mandy came to PeacePlayers from Special Olympics International, where she oversaw the organization’s global partnership with ESPN. She executed ESPN’s Global Presenting Sponsorship of Special Olympics Unified Sports program, which unites athletes with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. During Mandy’s tenure, ESPN also came on board as the Official Broadcast Partner of Special Olympics, including broadcast and multi-platform coverage of World Summer Games in 2015 in Los Angeles and World Winter Games in 2017 in Austria. Prior to managing the ESPN global partnership, Mandy headed up all global media relations for Special Olympics.
She has been honored with both ESPN’s inaugural 2017 ‘Enspire’ award for her work encouraging ESPN employees to give back to their communities, and also in 2016 with The Penn State Alumni Association’s Alumni Achievement Award.
An avid basketball fan, Mandy has always believed in using the power of sport to make an impact in people’s lives. She first encountered PeacePlayers during a trip around-the-world with her brother in 2009, spending time volunteering at the Durban site office while traveling through South Africa.
Prior to her work at Special Olympics, Mandy worked at Reebok and also at AND 1 Basketball, traveling with the AND 1 Mix Tape Tour, bringing streetball to communities across the globe. She is a 2002 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University.
