Sha Frye is a New Jersey native from Hillside/Newark, NJ. Sha attended Philadelphia University for undergrad where Sha was a member of the Women’s Basketball Team. After college, Sha served with AmeriCorps City Year Chicago for two years then transitioned to teaching middle school for three years and high school for one year. While teaching, Sha coached high school girls basketball as an assistant coach for three years at Perspectives Calumet High School and coached freshmen boys basketball for one year at Urban Prep Englewood. This past season 2017-2018 season Sha coached middle school boys basketball to a league championship in Los Angeles.
Sha has been with PeacePlayers since April 2018 as the Project Coordinator for Los Angeles. Prior to PeacePlayers Sha was the Dean of Student Culture at a Los Angeles public charter school where Sha created and managed the school behavioral system, supported the school community in navigating conflict, and coached teachers in classroom management. Sha is excited for the opportunity to combine several passions : basketball, youth development, and community.
