Joe Smith is PPI’s new Organizational Learning Specialist. His roles in this new position include collaborating with local staff on all aspects of training’s, delivery and learning. He will also help oversee directly with our PPI-SPIN program. His job will work to enhance a set of tools, tailored to the needs of each site that will be used to implement PPI’s curricula and support the organization-wide effort to monitor and evaluate program performance.
Joe first heard about PeacePlayers from his coach at Saint Mary’s of Maryland who
introduced him to Sean Tuohey, one of PPI’s founders. While attending Saint Mary’s Joe studied Political Science and History. After college Joe spent some time coaching at Dematha High School before deciding to become a fellow at PPI-Northern Ireland. And now we are lucky to have him here in the DC office.
When asked what his greatest accomplishment in life was so Joe talked about his family. Joe has six siblings and he is Godfather to his youngest brother. Joe went on to talk about the pride he has in his new job. He loves that he is able to have a career that he loves. Taking his passion for basketball and using the tools he has to make a positive impact for others is a dream come true for Joe.
